Javed Khan with Salt (Shinde-up)

Calcutta: Trainers Javed Khan and Daniel David took full control of the proccedings, on a murky and wet afternoon, as they made a cleansweep of Tuesday’s seven-event card. Daniel claimed the lion’s share, helped by the visiting jockey B. Sreeknath’s popular treble. For Javed, it was ‘Ed’ coming a wee too early. He polished off rest of the card with a treble, largely thanks to Shailesh Shinde’s back-to-back winning efforts through Salt and Escape To Victory.

Salt, the 16-10 favourite, stormed home with the Subianca Handicap, the main event in the card, Escape To Victory, however, made Shinde use all his riding skills for narrow win in the Not Much Handicap. In the process, Shinde also foiled Daniel’s and Sreekanth’s, chances of adding another winner to their tally, through a heavily wagered Victorian Secret.
