Calcutta: The Board of Control for Cricket in India president, Jagmohan Dalmiya, will be kept in the coronary care unit (CCU) of the B. M. Birla Heart Research Centre, for a few more days, according to hospital sources.

Dalmiya, who was admitted to the hospital with chest discomfort on Thursday, is being treated under Dr Anil Mishra.

A medical bulletin issued by the hospital on Saturday said: "Mr Jagmohan Dalmiya is stable and under observation and is being closely monitored at the hospital by a team of doctors. He continues to be under medical therapy as required."

The veteran cricket administrator had undergone an angiogram which led to detection of a clot in an artery. An earlier medical bulletin, released on late Thursday, had stated that: "Dalmiya came with chest discomfort. We did an angiogram and detected a clot in an artery. We have given him drugs to dissolve the clot."

According to CAB sources, he was conscious and was able to communicate.

Hospital sources said that it was too early to say what will be the next step of treatment. All medical protocol is being maintained and it will take at least a few more days of observation and treatment in the CCU, the source said.
