With a batting line-up that hasn’t looked confident, pitch at Barsapara Stadium may provide batters with some solace

Delhi Capitals will look to avoid a hat-trick of defeats when they face Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati in Saturday’s afternoon game.

With a batting line-up that hasn’t looked confident, the pitch at the Barsapara Stadium may provide the Delhi batters with some solace. David Warner, captain for the season, has looked in good touch, but the same cannot be said about the others. Be it Prithvi Shaw or Sarfaraz Khan, most of the Delhi batters have looked like a cat on a hot tin roof in front of express pace bowling.

Rajasthan do not have superfast bowlers, but Trent Boult and Jason Holder know how to get on top of batsmen. And then they have the unmatchable spin attack of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.

But it is Rajasthan’s batting which drills fear in opposition camps. In Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, captain Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer, Rajasthan have some of the best men with the bat. Buttler though had injured his finger in Rajasthan’s five-run loss to Punjab Kings in their last game. It is not known if it is serious enough for him to miss the game.

Delhi will miss Mitchell Marsh, who has flown back to Australia for his wedding.
