Hardik Pandya felt they were a few runs short and that resulted in the Gujarat Titans’ loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

“Batting wise I think we were 7-10 runs short which would’ve made a difference in the end. Bowling wise, we had a good start. I think they bowled well (in the last 5 overs),” Pandya, who scored an unbeaten 50, said.

In the end, it was Nicholas Pooran’s 34 not out off 18 balls that clinched it for the Sunrisers. He credited their coaching staff for the improvement in their performance.

“We as a batting group knew that we just had to learn from our mistakes in the past. We knew we had to build partnerships. It was a bit challenging and the wicket was a bit two-paced,” Pooran said.

“I try to improve every single day that I train. Fortunately we have some amazing coaches who are having some amazing conversations with us. Brian (Lara) is here, you can’t have better batting conversations with him, he’s helping me tremendously, not just myself but a lot of youngsters in the team.”
