Calcutta: The sporting fraternity, on Thursday, took to Twitter to salute Sachin Tendulkar, following the legend’s decision to retire from all forms of cricket after playing his 200th Test.

Muttiah Muralidharan, the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket, welcomed Sachin’s decision on a news channel. “I think it’s a bad day for Indian cricket as well as for world cricket. We won’t see Sachin any more in the playing kit. He is retiring on his own terms.

“Definitely, we always wanted to have Sachin’s wicket. Every opposition looks forward to getting him out. Most of the times, he had won the battle. He was such a great player. Difficult to single out any moment,” Murali said.
