Indore: Subramaniam Badrinath (248) slammed a double hundred as Tamil Nadu piled on the woes of Madhya Pradesh as the visitors reached a massive 532 for eight on the second day of their Ranji Trophy Group B match, here, on Friday.

Badrinath added 122 more runs on Friday to his overnight 126 and was the last man out at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, here.

His 248 came from 448 balls and was studded with 28 boundaries. Badrinath was the second TN batsman who hit a triple digit score. Baba Aparajith had hit 118 on Friday.

In Mohali, defending champions Mumbai were firmly on course for their second successive outright victory as they dismissed Punjab for a meagre 155 runs. Mumbai had managed 282 in their first innings and have now taken their overall lead to 162 runs in the group A match.

Left-arm spinner Vishal Dabholkar turned out to be an unlikely hero for Mumbai as he wreaked havoc taking career-best six for 38 in 22.5 overs as he polished the lower half of the Punjab batting with clinical precision.

At stumps on the second day, Mumbai reached 35 for no loss in their second innings and would certainly be eyeing for an outright win.

In Kannur, an impressive display by their batsmen enabled Kerala post a huge 486 against Andhra in their first innings in a Group C encounter.

In reply to Kerala’s first innings total, Andhra were 42 for no loss at stumps on day two with openers Prasanth Kumar and Srikar Bharat unbeaten on 10 and 22, respectively.
