Calcutta: ATK have signed Portuguese footballer Zequinha for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League. The 30-year-old striker comes from Portuguese top tier side CD Nacional.
According to media release from the franchise, Zequinha has represented the Portugal U-20 side in the 2007 U-20 World Cup. Besides Nacional, he has also played for clubs like GD Tourinzense, FC Penafiel and Gondomar SC.
"Calcutta has great spirit when it comes to football. The crowd and its passion give the drive for fantastic football. The ISL experience will add a new feather to my cap," Zequinha was quoted as saying by the media release.
ATK's principal owner Sanjiv Goenka said: "I feel extremely happy to have such energy in our team.
"We are definitely working towards a great start with players like Zequinha coming on board."
Meanwhile, Delhi Dynamos have roped in 33- year-old veteran Venezuelan international Gabriel Cichero as their fourth foreign recruit.
Cichero, who can play both as left-back and left-stopper, is a member of the Venezuela squad for the ongoing 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
