Calcutta: Three-time world champion and Asian Games 2006 gold medallist Pankaj Advani made the quarter finals of the Asian Billiards Championship in Doha on Tuesday.

According to a media release, Advani, who won all his four matches in group D easily, reached the last eight stage even before completing his last round robin league match against Myanmar’s Aung Htay.

The two will clash to decide the pool topper with Htay also keeping his slate clean.

The other Indian in the fray, Rupesh Shah, also won all his matches comfortably to cruise into the quarter finals. He faces Peter Gilchrist of Singapore in his last league encounter.
