Calcutta: Jatin Paranjpe and Gagan Khoda are set to be removed from the senior selection committee of the BCCI, going by the recommendations of the Justice Rajendra Mal Lodha committee.

As per the recommendations, the five-member selection committee has to be pruned to three and all three have to be former Test players, retired at least five years prior to their appointment. Paranjpe and Khoda haven't played Test cricket.

The other members of the selection committee - chairman MSK Prasad, Devang Gandhi and Sarandeep Singh - are all former Test players.

In reply to an email, dated January 4, from BCCI CEO Rahul Johri ahead of the selection committee's meeting which was held on Friday, Justice Lodha committee secretary Gopal Sankaranarayanan clearly stated that the BCCI has to adopt its recommendation

"The present Committee is permitted as an exception to make the selections... Going forward, it will have to be strictly in terms of the Supreme Court judgement," Sankaranarayanan wrote in the email, which has been posted on the committee's website.
