Captain Eoin Morgan insisted that England would not buckle under pressure against India in the crucial game in Birmingham on Sunday, though defeat in this game means their World Cup dreams are in serious danger.

Things looked quite smooth for England till they collapsed against Sri Lanka to a shocking defeat before the Aussies thrashed them at Lord’s in their previous game. These two losses have made things extremely dicey for Morgan and his men.

However, Morgan, under whose captaincy England had risen to the No. 1 ranking in ODIs, maintained his side has regained its focus ahead of Sunday’s game at Edgbaston and its final round-robin phase match against New Zealand.

“We are handling it well and don’t feel the pressure. We are in a lucky position, as playing in a home World Cup for your country is a privileged position to be in.

“It presents a huge opportunity and if we win two games, we are in the semi-finals and then if we win that, then we are in the final. There is still a lot on the line and we are really looking forward to it.”
