“Winner winner chicken dinner” — the t2 Campus team is grinding into Season 2 of the mobile version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) for hours to win a match and finally see these words on the screen.
PUBG, a multiplayer shooting game, is the talk of the gaming world with over 10 million daily active users on PUBG Mobile worldwide. On May 15, PUBG Mobile released the version 0.5.0 update on Android and iOS, kicking off the new season. Earlier, players had only the Erangel map to play on — now, the Miramar map has been added. Some new guns and vehicles have been added too. Plus, the Arcade mode (shorter matches than Classic mode) now has Quick Match (eight minutes) and Sniper Training (15 minutes) options. The rest of it hasn’t changed much.
Tips & Tricks
Though the graphics in the mobile version are low-end, hiding inside bushes totally works. You can camouflage yourself inside some hefty foliage and hide from enemies.
Holster your weapon to sprint faster.
Remove your shoes before starting the game or during a match to move quietly. This does not give away your location.
Use the ‘eye’ icon to scout the area around you without moving or aiming around aimlessly.
Always use vehicles to cover huge distances because PUBG has a massive map. You can also run over players with the car, but hitting an obstacle at high speeds will blow up your vehicle.
Darker clothes will help you merge with shadows, hide behind walls and cars, or just blend into tall grass.
To cause more damage, sprint towards the enemy and jump to do a flying punch instead of a normal punch.
Change seats in a car to avoid bullets from your opponents. Most players aim for the driver’s seat if they see a car, thus changing your position gives you an advantage.
Backpacks add to your carrying capacity and bulletproof vests add to damage reduction, so pick these up whenever you find them.
The Frying Pan has also been added to the mobile version. It can be really helpful as it deflects any bullets aimed at you and you can kill a player by hitting with it only once.
