Bhubaneswar, June 7: Workers of the BJP today gave a rousing reception to Union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram and minister of state for petroleum and natural gas Dharmendra Pradhan, the two Odia ministers of the Narendra Modi government.

The workers received Oram and Pradhan at the airport. Later, they were taken in a rally to the BJP’s state office in the city. Pradhan said: “Our leader during the campaign had emphasised the need for development of the eastern region. He said he had a responsibility towards Odisha. This has reflected in the constitution of his ministry.” The party would meet on June 11 to elect its new leader.

Congress meet

Senior Congress leaders from the state today met at the party office here to analyse the reasons for the party’s debacle in the last election. AICC in charge of Odisha affairs Subhankar Sarkar attended the meet.
