Sambalpur, Jan. 30: Two persons were arrested today from Jharkhand by Rajgangpur police in Sundergarh district for allegedly circulating obscene video clips of a schoolgirl through MMS.

The two accused were identified as Zahid Ansari, 25, and Md Arman, 22.

“Yesterday, the girl’s father lodged a complaint in Rajgangpur police station in this connection,” said the police.

According to the complaint, one of the accused had sex with the girl and the other recorded the moment in a mobile and later circulated it through MMS.

The 16-year-old girl is a Class IX student. She had an affair with Arman.

Arman called her to an under-construction house at Rajgangpur.

He persuaded the girl for physical intimacy. Arman also promised the girl that he would marry her.

Ansari, Arman’s friend, had clandestinely recorded the couple’s intimate moments in a mobile phone.

“The accused had fled from Rajgangpur after circulating the clips. The police team had gone to Chakradharpur and Jamshedpur to nab them,” said Sundargarh superintendent of police Sanjeev Arora.

“The accused had allured a minor girl. Only exemplary punishment could check recurrence of such kind of incident,” said Arora.

“The duo were arrested from Jharkhand. They have been booked under sections 376 (2) (G), 293 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67 (A) of the Immoral Traffic Act,” said sub-divisional police officer Susil Panigrahi.

On January 12, a rape was reported in Rajgangpur police station.

The accused, in this case, too, were arrested from Ranchi.
