Bhubaneswar, March 14: Shutterbugs of the city had a field day.
A techno fest was organised by a private company providing digital imaging solutions for both home and office use at an exhibition in the city.
However, the fair not only offered equipment for crystal clear prints, but also organised a photography competition. Titled Epson Envision, the daylong event took place at a private hotel near Sriya Square here.
An exhibition of printouts of some brilliant snaps was displayed to show the clarity in the print of their printers. Some of the photographs such as nomads in a desert, a music concert and another one of a cyclist with a backdrop of sunset fascinated the onlookers.
A photography competition was also organised where shutterbugs across the city were invited to take part. The company had arranged for a female model and the required lighting arrangement. The photographers had to capture her in their frames and submit the entry.
The winners were felicitated in late evening where they received a photo printer and the runner-ups got a photo lab solution provider each.
“The interest of the people here in photography is increasing each day. We are offering them printers and scanners that would help them set up their own start up,” said S.M. Ramprasad, member of the organising team. He also stressed upon the needs of people living in the upcoming flats and apartments and guided the enthusiasts towards the home theatre section for a lavish experience of films and music.
For the education institutes, the interactive projectors were available that have revolutionised the modern day classroom set-up.
an interesting demonstration, it was shown how a receipt could be printed using an app on any smart phone. Also, at another section, a scooter was given a new look by pasting print outs of Marilyn Monroe, and similarly, it was shown how mere high-quality printouts could render a brand new look to various rooms of a house.
The officials of the business house that has its parent company based in Japan talked fondly about Odisha being a potential market for their products. Their equipment they claimed were user friendly and cost effective.
