Bhawanipatna: Marwadi Yuba Manch, a local group, organised an awareness camp on cyber crimes here on Monday. A team of experts discussed various kinds of cyber crimes and suggested measures to counter it.

The awareness camp was held after Roshan lal Agrawal of Bhawanipatna was duped by cyber criminals. However, Agrawal got back all his money after taking help of Cyberindia, a platform of organisations and individuals working in the field of cyber security solutions.

President of Marwadi Yuba Manch Suman Kumar Agrawal said they intended to organise the camp to create awareness in people about the threats they were likely to face while using the internet and social media.

"Smart phones have become an integral part of our life and we cannot think of living without it even for a day. We must get some education about the threats we are likely to face," Agrawal said.

Abhaya Singh Sagar of Cyberindia talked about various kinds of threats we encounter while using the internet and social media. He said: "Hacking and phishing are the two most common cyber crimes that are prevalent today. Hacking is a technique in which the hacker acquires all your secret information while in the case of phishing the caller asks you to get your bank detail, card details posing him as a bank staff. "
