Cuttack: Gangster Sushant Dhal Samant is facing fresh murder charges in a 2009 case.

The court of sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) here has allowed the police to make him an accused in the December 11, 2009 double murder case.

A shootout had taken place at the busy Nuabazar then and Lichua alias Kameswar Sethy and his relative Titua alias Anirudha Sethy were killed. While both deceased worked as contractors, Titua had several criminal cases lodged against him in various police stations of the city.

After investigation, the police had then arrested Sushil Dhal Samant, Sushant's younger brother, along with Sanjay Sahu, Gauri Mohapatra, Binod Sahu, Ashish Sahu and Bhajana Sahu and named them accused in the case.

Police on Monday made a fresh arrest of Sushant Dhal Samant in the double murder and produced him in court.
