Twenty budding astronomers of the state have qualified for a trip to the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) in Bangalore in May 2014 where they will have an opportunity to interact with the who's who of the scientific fraternity. My role model

Mom is the word

Sacrifice, affection and responsibility are the words that best describe a mother's role. My idol is that beautiful person I saw when I opened my eyes for the first time - my mother.
From staying awake all night to nurse me when I am sick and giving up on her favourite television shows to ensure that I complete my homework to cooking all my favourite dishes and putting my needs before hers - that is what makes her my hero, my inspiration in life.
She is the best mother as she cooks the world's tastiest food. I love to go shopping with her. She buys me gifts and has never said no to whatever I have wanted. She is my best friend as she plays with me and takes me to the park every Sunday. She inspires me to success and when I win an award, she is the happiest person on earth.

She is very patient when it comes to teaching me and she makes sure that I am happy and safe always. She is the best gift God has given me.

She is full of grace, positive energy and warmth and has always taught me to never give up in life, no matter how adverse the circumstances are. My mother is my role model because she has taught me discipline, manners and a sense of duty towards others in the family and society.
