Sonepur: Odisha Milk Federation will set up a milk processing plant at Chhepapali near Haradkhole on the Sonepur-Balangir stretch of NH-57 here.

The plant, which will have a daily milk processing capacity of 50,000 litres, will greatly benefit the dairy farmers of Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir and Kandhamal districts. The district administration has already earmarked five acres for the purpose.

Sonepur district collector Dasarathi Satapathy said that the district administration had extended all possible help for the milk processing plant. "We have allocated five acres along the NH-57 at Chhepapali village. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 12.49 crores and it has the approval of Rastriya Krushi Vikash Yojana," he said.
