Bhubaneswar, June 16: The 17th All Odisha Junior, Senior and 2nd sub-junior, billiard and snooker state championship, 2011 began on Wednesday at Cue Sports Academy in Jayadev Vihar in Bhubaneswar. Both professional and amateur cueists from all over the state are participating in the event.

While the sub-junior level snooker and billiards contest concluded on the opening day itself, the final for junior billiards was declared on Thursday.

In sub-junior snooker Chirag Arora beat state sub-junior rank one Asutosh Padhy (3-2) while Padhy claimed revenge by beating Arora in the sub-junior billiards and junior billiards finals.

The junior snooker and senior snooker as well as billiards rounds will be held from Friday onwards at the championship that is on until June 24.

The winners and runners-up from each category of the tournament will be representing Orissa in the National championship to be held from 18th July to 9th August at Chennai.
