50 researchers attend mentorship camp

Young researchers

Around 50 young scientific researchers and innovators, winners of national level science fairs affiliated to the Initiative for Research and Innovation in Science, attended a two-day regional mentorship camp at Institute of Technical Education and Research, the faculty of engineering and technology of SOA (deemed to be university). The participants, drawn from south and east zones, showcased their innovative projects during the program aimed at fostering innovation among bright national-level school students by reviewing their work, providing relevant feedback and mentorship for future.
 
Literary fest

Enhancing the diverse thinking among students and helping them have their creative spirit and imagination, DAV Public School, Unit-VIII, conducted the Literary Fest 2018 from July 9 to 13. Students from classes VI-XI enthusiastically took part in the events held in English, Hindi, Odia and Sanskrit languages. Students spoke impromptu and enjoyed several vocabulary games. Posters and slogans were made by the students. A book fair was also held.

Felicitation

St Xavier’s High School, Kedargouri, organised a felicitation programme for meritorious students of classes X and XII of the school. Former director of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, Ashok Kumar Mohapatra felicitated the students who secured more than 90 per cent marks in the board exams.

Award to inspire 

The fourth state-level Prerana Award ceremony was organised by a social organisation called Swabhiman at Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. The effort was effort to recognise the hard work of students with disabilities and celebrate their success in matriculation examinations. The recipients were children and youth with disabilities who, despite of many challenges, were determined to succeed. Around 24 students from 10 districts of Odisha took part in this event and won awards. 

Innovation is key

The Centre’s department of science and technology recently conducted a five-day camp on "Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research" at the Trident Academy of Technology here. As many as 150 Plus Two students from various schools of Odisha took part in the camp. Eminent professors from various institutions motivated the young minds towards scientific research. Trident group chairperson Smitarani Panigrahi distributed certificates among the participants. Among others, executive director R.N. Satpathy and Amarendra Baral were present.

Talented kids

The Shiksha Bikash Parishad organised a programme under the chairmanship of its president Sadananda Dikshita to felicitate 135 meritorious students who took a state-level talent test here on Sunday. Odisha Board of Secondary Education president Jahan Ara Begum, who was the chief guest, said the objective of education would be achieved if it is served for the family and the nation. Paris-had member Pradumnya Kumar Mishra said they would hold a state-level sport festival in December.
