Schools, centres mark JEE success

City schools and coaching centres have started celebrating their success with the results of JEE (Advanced) being declared today. As many as 3,317 students from the state had appeared for the test.

Bhubaneswar, June 15: City schools and coaching centres have started celebrating their success with the results of JEE (Advanced) being declared today. As many as 3,317 students from the state had appeared for the test.

Although the exact number of JEE qualifiers is yet to reach the officials here, The Telegraph today got a peek of the celebratory mood on the campuses.

Thirty-three students from the DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, have qualified for the JEE (Advanced). Of the total 10,575 seats meant for IITs, five students of the school have ranks within 1,000, 12 have fetched ranks within 5,000 and 22 have secured ranks within 10,000.The school's JEE toppers are Abhishek Sahu with an all-India rank of 525 from the general category, P.R. Sarabjit got a rank of 280 from the SC category and Aayush Shah ranked 95 from the differently-abled category.

Students of Mother's Public School have also achieved good scores. As many as 41 students from the institute will be getting admission in the NITs, IITs and other technical institutes, informed the authorities. Subham Acharya secured an all-India rank of 162 and holds the second position in the state. Among the 41 qualifiers, 25 students secured ranks within 10,000.

Bismay Swain of Forum for Indian Institute of Technology (FIIT)-JEE, Bhubaneswar centre, has achieved the top rank of 137. A total of 101 students from all programmes of FIIT-JEE Bhubaneswar and Cuttack centres have qualified from the general category.

"We are happy to announce that three out of top five students from the state are students of FIIT-JEE. Also five students are in the top 1,000, nine students in the top 2,000, 24 students in the top 5,000 are from our institute," said Ranajoy Bardhan, the centre head of FIIT-JEE, Bhubaneswar.

"Making it to the IIT has been my dream since childhood and I am grateful to my parents and teachers for helping me accomplish this dream," Bismay said.

Around 242 students from Vidwan Classes also cleared the JEE (Advanced). Out of these, around 100 students got ranks in the highly competitive exams. Subhrajeet Panda from the institute got a ranking of 329 and Swati Priyadarshini Behera secured the 129th rank.

"I thank my parents and teachers for my success," said Subhrajeet.
