Cuttack, Oct. 25: The ground and other properties of Barabati Stadium, along with spectators, have been insured for Rs 20 crore for the One-Day international cricket match between India and Sri Lanka to be played here on November 2.

Odisha Cricket Association secretary Asirbad Behera today said: “The deal has been inked with the Oriental Insurance Company and a premium of Rs 11.35 lakh for it has already been paid.”

The association has hosted 17 ODIs. The last one was when West Indies lost to India on November 29, 2011. The 18th ODI between India and Australia on October 26, 2013, was washed out.

Giving a break-up of the insurance components, Behera said the stadium had been insured for Rs 8 crore for standard fire and peril policy, while the spectators and visitors had been covered under public liability insurance of Rs 7 crore. The special contingency insurance policy would cover the remaining Rs 8 crore, he said.

Addressing reporters here, the association secretary said the stadium had a capacity of 45,000 spectators. As many as 44,430 tickets (including complimentary passes) are being printed this time. Of these, 22,000 tickets will be up for sale through counters, while 12,640 tickets will be made available through affiliated bodies of the association and the BCCI. The number of complimentary passes will be 9,790.

The sale of tickets for the affiliated bodies will start tomorrow and continue till October 28. Tickets for the public will be sold through separate counters on October 30 and 31.

Behera said the online sale of 7,000 tickets of various denominations had been on since October 19 through the website www.ticketgenie.in. “The online sale of tickets will continue till October 28. Nearly 75 per cent of the tickets have been sold,” he said.

The ticket prices for the ODI have been kept the same as the last ODI. Only the price of seats in the corporate box has been brought down from Rs 10,000 to Rs 8,000. Tickets have been priced at Rs 5,000 (AC Box Gallery No. 4), Rs 4,000 (New Pavilion), Rs 3,000 (Corporate Gallery), Rs 2,000 (Special Enclosure), Rs 500 (Gallery 1, 2, 3 and 4), Rs 400 (Gallery 6 and 7) and Rs 200 (Gallery 6 - players concession).

A three-tier security, along with the network of 68 closed-circuit television cameras (CCTVs), will ensure the foolproof safety measures for the people during the day-night match.

“The CCTVs will be installed at the entrance to the stadium, entry to the dressing rooms and at all stands to ensure observation and recording of every movement as part of the monitoring system by the Cuttack deputy commissioner of police from the central control room,” Behera said.

The association has entrusted the entire ticketing of the T20 match to Hyderabad-based Ticketgenie Solutions Pvt Ltd with inclusion of holograms, bar code and other security features. “They will provide 90 ticket validators for the outer gate and 90 “May I help you” manpower for guiding the spectators at the inner gate and 20 supervisors to oversee the management,” Behera said.

“Besides, 3,000 duty passes will be provided to persons and service providers assigned to various duties for a smooth conduct of the match,” he said.
