Bhubaneswar: The state government plans to shortly introduce robotics education in school curriculum.
In a move to "inculcate scientific temper among students and keep them abreast with the happenings in the world of artificial intelligence", robotics education will be introduced in select schools across the state. It will begin with 10 model schools in various districts on a pilot basis.
Talks have already been initiated with a Bangalore-based company to implement the project in the state.
"The agency is already running the programme in various schools in Karnataka. We had received a proposal from them and decided that it would be a great way of value addition among the students," said school and mass education secretary Pradipta Mohapatra. "This will help children develop their skills on robotics and artificial intelligence from an early age," he added.
