Bhubaneswar, Aug. 12: Odia film-maker Nila Madhab Panda was present at an event here today as he promoted his upcoming Hindi film Kaun Kitne Paani Mein.
Panda, who shot into the limelight with his first Hindi film I am Kalam, interacted with his fans at the event hosted at Pahal on the city outskirts. Bollywood actors Kunal Kapoor and Radhika Apte, who play the lead pair in the film, and other cast and crew also attended the event.
The duo looked excited about visiting Odisha and also the film's release this month.
The film is based on Odisha and will help the Odia culture reach the national film audience, said Panda.
"I have always been particular about choosing films that will make an impact on the society. Kaun Kitne Paani Mein is relevant in most parts of India that are either facing water shortage or struggling to find clean water for daily use. We hope that the film will highlight the issue well," said Radhika.
The Rangabati track is another highlight of the film. Dancer Saswat Joshi has choreographed the popular Odia folk song, while he and actress Prakriti Mishra will be seen in the song.
"I'm really excited about the song. We have given our best to use the tempo for the vibrant Sambalpuri dance moves. It is good to know that the song has already become popular," said Prakriti.
The satirical comedy also stars veteran Bollywood actors Saurabh Shukla and Gulshan Grover.
Panda is looking forward to the response the film gets. "As film-makers, we have a responsibility of giving strong messages on behalf of the society, along with entertainment, for the audience. This film stands for the problem of lakhs in India who face water scarcity every day. Having grown up in Odisha where I had lived with water scarcity for three decades, I understand the importance of the subject and wish my message reaches the viewers," he said.
The film will be released on August 28.
