Rourkela: Police have launched a manhunt for two persons who have allegedly gang-raped a woman in a desolate house. The woman filed a complaint on Tuesday.

The incident took place in the Sundargarh Town police station area on Sunday.

The 22-year-old gang-rape survivor wrote in her complaint that two persons - Darsu Munda and Lolo Munda - accosted her and forcefully took her to a desolate house while she was returning home after completing some work at RRIT Colony.

There, the accused duo gagged and gang-raped her. Later, they fled leaving her in a semi-conscious state.

The duo had also threatened her if she protested. But with her husband by her side, the woman finally lodged a police complaint on Tuesday.

Confirming the receipt of the complaint, sub-inspector of Town police station Suchitra Jena said a case was registered against the duo under Section 376 (B) (gang-rape) of the Indian Penal Code.

Jena said: "Darsu and Lolo are history-sheeters. We are raiding various places in search of them and are hopeful of catching them soon."

Body recovered

Police at Bisra, around 25km from here, recovered the body of a 15-year-old mentally challenged boy's body in a charred condition from a school.

The incident occurred at Bada Upar Bahal village. The minor belonged to the same village where the school is situated.

Villagers saw smoke coming from the building around 10am. Finally, it was found that the fire was coming from a classroom where the authorities had kept old books and copies. When they tried to look into the room through the windows, they found the boy lying near the door and called the police.

Bisra police station inspect-in-charge Bikash Ranjan Swain said: "By the time we broke open the door, the boy was already dead and the body was partially burnt."

Preliminary investigations found that one of the window railings was bent and there was enough space for someone to enter through it.

"Villagers said the boy had a habit of smoking and probably entered the room to smoke."

The papers might have caught fire when he was smoking and the boy was trapped.

"He tried to save himself by coming close to the doors to keep himself away from the fire, but the heat, smoke and fire killed him," said Swain.
