Bhubaneswar: Armed with searchlights an inspection team will steps into the ratna bhandar (treasury) of the Jagannath temple in Puri on Wednesday to make an assessment of its structure.

The inspection is being undertaken following directives of Orissa High Court.

Devotees will not be allowed inside the temple for at least four hours from 1pm on Wednesday when the team will inspect the treasury, said temple public relations officer Laxmidhar Pujapanda.

He said: "The temple will be closed till the inspection is complete.."
