The victim, Sukanti, was on his way to a bank when two persons intercepted him and snatched away the money he was carrying. When he resisted, the men shot at him injuring his thigh. He was immediately rushed to a hospital. Bhubaneswar: Sambalpur police on Thursday lodged a case against two firms that had allegedly duped people of their money. he companies, Basic Solution Provider and Sail Bless Finance, had promised to pay investors high interest for their investments. At least 2,500 people in Sambalpur have been duped, said police. A case has been lodged against NimaI Charan Mohapatra, who was running both the firms. Mohapatra and his wife are absconding. Bhubaneswar: A doctor at Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati Medical College and Hospital, who was suspended following the case of a dead body being partially eaten by a dog, threatened suicide on Thursday if he was not reinstated to service. The doctor, Sibprasad Das, said he was in no way responsible for the death and that he was never present on the day of the event.
