Bhubaneswar: The provisional seat allotment list of MBA and MCA courses under Orissa joint entrance examination was published on Monday. Candidates need to deposit the part admission fee on August 26, 27, and 28 respectively at any of the OJEE nodal centres. The aspirants can get the details on the website www.odishajee.com. Bhubaneswar: Around 100 students had on Monday gheraoed Kharavela Nagar police station complaining that the police was not registering their complaints on motorcycle theft. Two students lodged complaints with the police 10 days ago, though the latter had not registered any FIR. The students alleged that due to the police inaction they could not claim their insurance, which needed the FIR copy. The police later registered their cases and handed them the copies of FIR. Bhubaneswar: Sasmita Sethi, who has alleged the deputy director of Nandankanan zoo of sexual harassment, on Monday filed a written complaint at the state human rights commission. Sethi, who has earlier approached the state women’s commission, lleged that she had to move to the human rights commission as the women’s commission refused to accept her complaint. State human rights commission will issue a showcause notice to the deputy director of Nandankanan zoo. Sambalpur:Sambalpur police on Monday arrested a person in connection with a firing case. The police have also seized a gun from him. The accused has been identified as Md. Samsher. Samsher was allegedly involved in a firing incident at the city station in Sambalpur. The incident had taken place on 28th July. The police had earlier arrested three persons in this connection. This is the fourth arrest in relation to the incident. Bhubaneswar: Body of a baby elephant was found near Kapilash forest range in Dhenkanal. The elephant is believed to have died of overeating of palm. A heard of elephants had strayed into the nearby village last evening, said villagers.
