Bhubaneswar: A third phase of OJEE counselling to fill up vacancies in engineering, MBA, MCA and lateral entry into engineering would be conducted between September 21 and 23, said OJEE committee vice-chairman, Sitaram Mohapatra. More than 23,000 seats are lying vacant in engineering colleges while for MBA and MCA, the number of vacancies are 4,000 and 2000, respectively. Similarly, over 18,000 seats are available for lateral entry admissions. Bhubaneswar: Air India will be reintroducing flight service between Calcutta and Bhubaneswar from September 23 onwards. The flight AI-769 will depart from Calcutta at 3.50pm and arrive at Bhubaneswar at 4.35pm. Similarly, flight AI- 770 would depart from Bhubaneswar at 5.05pm and reach Calcutta at 5.50pm, an official release said.Bhubaneswar: The Nayapalli police on Monday recovered the body of a 17-year-old boy from an under-construction house near Salia Sahi at Nayapalli. The boy, identified as Chandramani Dora, was a Plus Two second-year student of Biju Pattnaik College. His body bore injury marks. His family members alleged that he was murdered and dumped in the house. The Nayapalli police are investigating into the matter. Bhubaneswar: The Balasore vigilance sleuths had registered and chargesheeted against one Ramachandra Sahu, junior clerk, and Kamala Kanta Rout, peon, in the office of the sub-divisional officer (electrical) in Balasore for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 180 from the complainant, Adikanda Bhukta, for processing file for providing electricity connection to his house. On completion of trial, the special judge (vigilance), Balasore, in his judgment on Monday, held Sahu and Rout guilty of the charges. They were convicted and sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for six months. Bhubaneswar: One more person allegedly died on Monday in Angul raising the dengue toll to 25. The deceased has been identified as Narayana Naik from Talcher block.
