Bhubaneswar: A day after seven people went missing when a boat capsized in Koraput’s Kolab reservoir on Sunday, the bodies of five persons were fished out. These include the bodies of four women and a child. wo persons are still missing. The rescue and search operation is being carried out by the Odraf team. Sambalpur: Bargarh vigilance sleuths arrested a doctor on Monday for demanding illegal gratification for operating on a patient. Brahmananda Dash, a gynaecologist in Bargarh District Hospital, allegedly demanded Rs 4,000 from Sushil Dash, a resident of Turunga village in Bargarh District. he vigilance official caught the doctor red-handed while he was accepting the bribe and recovered the money from his possession. The accused father, V. Kuttaya has been arrested and forwarded to court. Angul: Two youths ended their lives by consuming poison on Sunday night at Lachhabanda jungle under Bantala police station. A romantic affair is said to be behind the cause of the suicide. Both belonged to Lachhabandh village. The deceased have been identified as Ashish Nayak, a student of Angul College and Ramachandra Nayak, who worked as a security guard at a private company. Ashish's father is a Nalco employee. On being informed, Bantala police recovered two bodies from the jungle near here with suicide note which stated that nobody was responsible for their death. Both the bodies have been sent for post-mortem. Cuttack: Orissa High Court on Monday granted bail to two persons accused in the nun gang rape case. The two are facing a trial before a fast track court in Phulbani.
