Sambalpur: Protesting against the “step-motherly treatment” meted out to Orissa in the railway budget, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) activists on Sunday staged a dharana in front of the Sambalpur railway station. The dharna was organised by the youth wing of the party. enior BJD leader Bijay Mohanty said: “Chief minister Naveen Patnaik had sought an allocation of Rs 2,085 crore for Orissa in railway budget. However, the railway ministry has sanctioned only Rs 1,168 crore. Bhubaneswar: Four police personnel including inspector-in-charge of the Hirakud police station Subash Chandra Sahu were injured following an exchange of fire with dacoits. Two dacoits also sustained bullet injuries and were arrested.
