Bhubaneswar, June 26: The department of technical education today launched E Nijukti — the online facility to help young professionals and unemployed youth to get jobs under the state employment mission.
The facility, which became operational, has provisions for the job seekers to register themselves.
Under the mission, the state government provides facilities to all unemployed youths from matriculation to doctorate, from unskilled to honours graduates, to get suitable employment.
“Unemployed youths in the state, who are interested to get themselves trained in any particular skill or those, who are semi-skilled and wish to improve their skill, can register themselves with e Nijukti at www.empmissionodisha.gov.in.
“The department will connect them to the suitable empanelled training providers,” a senior official said.
He said more students of the state must avail the opportunity and take up the training programmes and get themselves employed.
At present, the mission offers courses on accounting, engraving, bee-keeping, computer fundamentals, dairy farming, domestic farming, domestic BPO, polishing jewellery, hospitality assistant, diamond grading, land surveyor, repair of radiators and TV receivers besides skill training for masons, welders, electricians, plumbers and many more.
Moreover, students from inaccessible places such as Malkangiri can register themselves through the website and not only get the training, but also finds a job,” the official said.
Those candidates, who are from remote areas and facing difficulties in registering themselves, can approach the respective employment officers in their localities to get their doubts clarified.
The employment exchanges in the districts are doubling as career counselling centres and officials have been trained to counsel students on career opportunities and the kind of skill a particular candidate needs to get trained, he said.
The E Nijukti facility is also open for employers to register themselves. At present, the website shows 178 job vacancies.
The department has also initiated a facility named Vidyarthi — under the State Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training, exclusively for students of polytechnic schools and ITIs.
Students can use the facility, developed by the National Informatics Centre, Odisha unit, by lodging their grievances online.
It will also help them in online registration and filling up of forms.
The facilities will subsequently be extended to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, the official said.
