Talent pool

DAV Public School, Pokhariput, organised Showboat - the annual school exhibition for pre-primary classes - on the school grounds on February 11. The theme for this year was "a voyage towards knowledge and enlightenment" to celebrate the latent talent of the tiny tots. Around 300 children showed off their creative skills with exhibitions of models and methods that are useful to teaching and learning languages, mathematics and environmental studies guided by their class teachers.

Fond farewell

Sai International School recently conducted the annual SAI Asirvada ceremony to bid farewell to the outgoing Class XII students. The daylong celebration was marked with power-packed performances and foot-tapping music. Students dressed up in formals and made the ambience colourful and lively. A wave of nostalgia gripped the students as they recalled memorable moments and shared fond memories of their school life. With a heavy heart and high hopes for the future, the students bid farewell to their school.

Parents' day

Several of the state's Saraswati Sishu Mandir schools observed February 14 as Matru-Pitru Pujan Divas. As youths celebrated Valentine's Day, the schools made an effort to embed the values of Inidan culture among the students. On the occasion, the students "worshipped" their parents. They were offered flowers and gifts. The teachers spoke about the significance of the parent-child relationship.

Change-makers

The United Artists' Association hosted a two-day children's festival in Bhubaneswar on February 15 and 16. The state-level festival aimed to make children sanitation ambassadors so that they could act as change agents in the school, family and community. Around 250 students took part in the festival and displayed models based on the theme.

Healthy eats

DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, students conducted an awareness campaign on healthy eating. The students were asked to dress up as healthy food items and discuss their nutritional values. A number of song and dance items on the importance of food were also staged.
