Accident kills one

Bhubaneswar: One person died when a bus hit a motorcylist at Chikiti Square in Aska. The unidentified biker was killed on the spot.

SAIL chief

Bhubaneswar: Chairman of public sector Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) C.S. Verma on Friday inaugurated the power and blowing station of Rourkela Steel Plant during his visit to the plant.

Arrest

Bhubaneswar: Rayagada police on Friday arrested an eight-member gang, including women, who were involved in various incidents of loot in the area. A sum of Rs 2 lakh and pistols has been seized from the gang.

Protest

Bhubaneswar: Sports lovers in Sundargarh district protested against the attempts by the state sports and youth affairs department to shift the Hockey Excellence Centre at Panposh near Rourkela to Bhubaneswar.

Fatal fall

Kendrapara: A 52-year-old person died as he accidentally fell into a well at Tini Muhani in the town. The deceased person, Dangua Sethy, was a native of Gulnagar.

Murder

Balangir: A 40-year-old disabled man was found murdered at Kahaliapali here. The deceased, Tarun Pradhan, was a farmer. His family members alleged that he was murdered on suspicion of practising witchcraft.
