Cuttack: Chauliaganj police on Thursday arrested the accused involved in attacking and ransacking the house of Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Pravat Ranjan Biswal and assaulting his brother Arta Ranjan Biswal last Friday over the issue of distribution of party tickets for Cuttack Municipal Corporation election. he accused was identified as Surendra Patra of Mathasahi. He was arrested from Bhubaneswar and sent to jail following rejection of his bail plea. Bhubaneswar: Members of district child welfare committee of Khurda alleged that Airfield police refused to accept a complaint regarding a child abuse case.he committee members alleged that a nine-year-old girl, who was working as a domestic help in Pokhariput, had been abused by her employer. She was rescued by Lingaraj police while crying on the roadside and was handed over to child helpline. When helpline members wanted to lodge a case against her employer with Airfield police, the officials refused to accept the complaint.
