Two persons killed in separate accidents
Bhubaneswar: Two persons died and three suffered injuries in two separate accidents in the city on Monday. A motorcyclist Krushna Das, 36, of Kendrapara was crushed under a speeding truck at Nayapalli, while his friend was injured.
In the other accident, Abhianyu Sahu, 51, of Siddhivihar area in Baramunda was killed when a four-wheeler hit the auto-rickshaw in which Sahu, his wife and sister were travelling. Sahu died on the spot while his sister and wife are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
Balasore: A 17-year-old girl was found murdered in the backyard of her house in the Khaira area. he victim Gitanjali Sial was alone when unknown youths attacked her. Police suspect a jilted lover to be behind the murder and have started a probe into the case. Bhubaneswar: Weathermen have issued a thundersquall warning in certain parts of the state. In an official release, Met officials said thundersquall accompanied by hail and gusty surface wind was likely to affect some parts of Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur. Cuttack:A probe has been ordered into the alleged rape of a minor girl at Tigiria block of Athgarh sub-division. Villagers said a 13-year-old girl of Balisahi was allegedly raped by Bidya Pradhan, 42, of the same area on May 12. he incident occurred when the girl was alone in her house and the police took no step nab the culprits, they alleged.
