Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday congratulated two visually challenged cricketers from the state, Mohd. Jaffar Iqbal and Pankaj Bhue, who were part of the Indian team that won the inaugural T20 World Cup for the blind yesterday.

Twin arrests

Cuttack: Jagatpur police on Friday arrested Budhia Das, 22, of CDA Sector 13 and Ajay Jena, 30, of Kandarpur and recovered a Mauzer, a country-made pistol, 10 rounds of live bullets, a stolen mobile phone, a Maruti 800 and cash worth Rs 8,000.

Concern

Bhubaneswar: Union minister for rural development Jairam Ramesh expressed concerns over the delay by Odisha government in submitting details regarding the implementation of Indira Awas Yojana in the state.

Tourist death

Cuttack: Italian tourist Sebastiano Roserio Contiguglia, 63, who was undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College from November 26, died on Thursday. He was suffering from multiple organ infection.

Students held

Bhubaneswar: Twenty students of a private engineering college on the city outskirts were arrested for indulging in a group clash on Friday.
