Cuttack: A large number of patients have been facing problems at SCB Medical College and Hospital because of the shortage of attendants at the gynaecology department. Last Wednesday, a woman gave birth in front of the main entrance of the department because there were no attendants to carry her inside. Cuttack: Odisha will soon be part of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), which is expected to interconnect all police stations in the country. Initially, a pilot project of CCTNS will be launched in Angul and Kendrapara as part of the national e-governance plan, which aims to computerise and connect all police stations and higher police offices across the country. Chief minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the pilot project at the state police headquarters on Saturday on the closing day of 56th Senior Police Officers’ Conference Bhubaneswar: Forest officials have found carcasses of three migratory birds in Chilika Lake, which were allegedly killed by poachers. An investigation has begun. Last week, four persons were arrested for killing birds. Officials seized carcasses of 30 birds from their possession. Bhubaneswar: A man committed suicide by jumping in front of a truck at Nayapalli Square on Friday afternoon. Nayapalli police rushed the man to Capital Hospital where he was declared brought dead. He has been identified as Kaili Hansda of Mayurbhanj. Police seized the truck and are investigating into the matter. Bhubaneswar: Cold wave conditions will prevail in some interior parts of the state over the next 48 hours, met officials have said. Bhubaneswar: Parents of the Rayagada gang rape accused demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident on Friday. They alleged that the cops had taken their son into custody without conducting any investigation. The victim, who is undergoing treatment in Vishakapatnam, is said to be stable.
