Panda jailed

Cuttack: The Crime branch police on Friday sought extension of the remand of the Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda in connection with his alleged involvement in the murder of Swami Laxmananda Saraswati and four of his disciples at Jalespetha Ashram in Kandhamal district in 2008. The Maoist leader was sent to Berhampur jail on Friday after he was produced in the Nayagarh court by the Crime branch.

Murder arrest

Sambalpur: Police on Friday arrested a woman, Nuadei Khadia, 37, for allegedly killing her husband. The incident took place at Dungarpara under the Ainthaplai police station in Sambalpur.
