One dead

Bhubaneswar: One person was killed and another suffered injuries in a landslide at Hugulahandi within Umerkote block of Nabarangpur district on Friday. The victims had gone to a nearby hill to collect stones. The deceased was identified as Bandhu Bhatra and the injured as Dasrath Gond. He was admitted to Umerkote Community Health Centre. Sources said three persons had gone to the hill to dig up stones, when the incident happened.  

JEE (Main)

Bhubaneswar: The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the national-level Joint Entrance Examination (Main) in the state on Saturday. About 40,000 candidates will appear for the test for getting admission into institutions such as IITs. The examination for JEE (Main) Paper-1 for BE and BTech in offline mode will begin at 9:30am and end at 12:30pm while Paper-2 for BArch and BPlanning examination will begin at 2pm and conclude at 5pm.

Rescued

Bhubaneswar: A police team from Calcutta rescued a youth, who was abducted from Hinjili in Ganjam district on March 29. The cops have also detained two persons for their alleged involvement in the case.
