Trader robbed

Bhubaneswar: Two motorbike-borne goons robbed aa trader of cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh at Satya Nagar within the limits of Kharavela Nagar police station on Saturday. The incident took place around 1.30pm when the businessman, Akshaya Kumar Baral, was going to Satya Nagar after withdrawing the money from a private bank near Sriya cinema complex. The motorbike did not have a numberplate. Police are on the lookout to nab the goons.

Launch

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Saturday resumed launch services to the cut-off areas in Chitrakonda of Malkangiri district. The service started with the journey of a launch from Chitrakonda jetty to Andrapalli panchayat on Saturday afternoon. The service was suspended from August 20 following a threat from Maoists.

Roughed up

Bhubaneswar: Employees of a money deposit collection company on Saturday beat up an investor at Saheed Nagar. The incident took place when some depositors visited the company's office to demand their money. One of the depositors, Debaraj Barad, suffered severe injuries.
