Sambalpur: Police nd Maoists exchanged fire in Jujomura police station area of the district on Thursday evening. Though no security personnel have been injured, the police suspect that at least three Maoists have suffered serious injuries in the gunfight. Confirming the gun battle, district superintendent of police Prateek Mohanty said: “The rebels’ group was consisted of some 30 to 35 Maoists. However, they dispersed after the exchange of fire.” He said: “The details of the unfight are awaited.”

Central forces

Bhubaneswar: Around 60 companies central forces will come to the state for the first phase of election to be held on April 10 to ensure safe and fair election, which will mostly be conducted in the Naxal affected areas. Earlier it had been decided to deploy 50 companies of central forces, but later the authorities decided to send 10 more company forces. The security forces include CRPF, BSF, Indo-Tibetan Border Force..

Income tax

Bhubaneswar: Principal chief commissioner of income tax, Santosh Kumar Srivastav, said that an air intelligence unit had been established in the Biju Patnaik International Airport here to keep a track on movement of cash or other valuables through air route. “A 24x7 control room is also functioning since the past two week with a toll-free number 18000-345-6114. Residents can register their complaints,” said Srivastav.
