Relief fund
Bhubaneswar: The state government on Thursday enhanced the compensation amount to be given from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for medial treatment. Henceforth, people would get Rs 1 lakh to treat diseases like cancer, heart and kidney related diseases. At the time of emergency, the district collector can sanction up to Rs 30,000 and the sub collector can give Rs 10,000 to the people. Those who are unable to get funds from the Odisha State Treatment Fund due to various reasons can now avail funds to the tune of Rs 75,000 for their medical treatment.

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday wrote to Rahul Khullar, the chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. Naveen wrote the youth of the country is paying a very high cost for an inefficient Internet connection. “I do not see any justification in limiting the ability of new start-ups to reach the Net user,” the chief minister said.
