Norway envoy

Bhubaneswar: Norway’s ambassador to India Nils Ragnar Kamsvag arrived here 
on Sunday on a two-day visit to the state. He will visit the Capital Hospital on Monday and inaugurate a number of projects. He will also visit the College of Nursing in Berhampur.   

Posco row 

Bhubaneswar: Reacting to the South Korean steel major Posco’s backing out from its project at Paradip in Odisha, Union coal and power minister Piyush Goyal said on Sunday there were more opportunities in India and if a company pulled out, others would come in. The centre was in touch with the state so that other companies could come to the state. 

Jawan suicide

Koraput: A jawan of the 202 Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle here on Sunday. The deceased jawan has been identified as Shankar Prasad of Delhi. An inquiry has begun into the incident that took place at the Sunabeda unit of the Central Reserve Police Force.

Poultry ransack

Jeypore: One person was hurt when a mob ransacked a poultry farm at Dangara village. Around 50 villagers forced their way into the farm and destroyed eggs and other property after no step was taken to check pollution despite several complaints.

Threat arrest

Kandhamal: A man has been arrested for allegedly issuing death threats to Kandhamal collector Raghu G. on Saturday.
