A teacher of a private school in Chandrasekharpur police limits is on the run after four students levelled molestation charges on him and filed a police complaint.

The teacher, identified as Md Ajeez, a resident of Lakshmi Sagar, had allegedly molested one of the girls after calling her to the staff room a month ago. The authorities said the molested girl was from Kharagpur, and she was staying in the school’s hostel.

Sources said the girl had informed her parents soon after the incident, following which a formal complaint was filed with the school authorities last month. An internal committee was formed to look into the matter.

“We have conducted an internal inquiry and found the teacher guilty based on footage of the closed-circuit television camera installed in the school. We have suspended him and filed a police complaint,” said a school official.

The police said three more girls from the school came with similar complaints against the teacher soon after the girl and her parents from Kharagpur had brought the matter to the light.

The police said they had booked the teacher under multiple sections of the IPC and also under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Sources said a look-out notice had been issued for the teacher.
