Bhubaneswar, March 16: The Odia and Telugu film industries are coming together for a bilingual film.

Starring Odia superstar Sabyasachi Mishra, the film is a take on the love story of Ram and Sita when they take birth in Kalyug.

Sita Ramanka Bahaghara - the Odia version of the film - will hit theatres on March 31 following which the Telugu version - Sitarama Kalyanam Chustamu Rarandi - will hit the screens in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Directed by GNS Prasad, the film also stars popular actor Suman Talwar, best known for his negative role in the Bollywood film Gabbar is Back. He will be seen in an important role in the film. Other veteran actors such as Bijay Mohanty, Anita Das and Jiban Panda are also acting in the film.

For the filmmaker, the debut directorial venture in Odia was not easy. "A lot of co-ordination was required to combine both the languages. We were portraying the cultures of two states that are quite different. I had to do a lot of research to put them together properly so that each retains its identity," said the director.

While this was Sabyasachi's second Telugu film after Neerajanam, for the Telugu actress Manesha, who is seen opposite the hero in the film, this was her first attempt at an Odia film.

The cast and crew of the film are a mix from both the film industries. The film was shot in places such as Rajahmundry and Hyderabad apart from various locations in Bhubaneswar.

"I had to take a formal training in Telugu during my first film. So the shooting for this film was easy. A number of crew members were working in Odisha for the first time and I had a great time training them in my native language," said the actor.

Incidentally, Sabyasachi's first film Pagala Premi was an Odia remake of the Telugu hit Arya. "When the director saw the film, he said I reminded him of Allu Arjun. This was a huge compliment for me," said the popular actor whose latest hits include Pilata Bigidigala and Bye Bye Dubai.

The music album of the film was launched here recently. Composed by Kishan Kavadiya, the film has four songs. Sabyasachi has also sung for the Odia version of the film.

"The film is mainly entertainment but it also disseminates some moral values. Every age group will enjoy the film," said Mishra.
