Bhubaneswar, Sept. 2: He vanished the Taj Mahal into thin air and replicated Sai Baba’s “god-gifted powers”. Now the man, P.C. Sorcar, along with his magician daughter Maneka, is set to baffle the minds of the people in Bhubaneswar with his mind boggling tricks and illusions.

The doors of magic will open on Saturday evening at Utkal Mandap where the legendary magician, along with his daughter Maneka, would perform some great illusions compiled from all over the world.

The country’s first family of magic would present their show “Indrajaal” that will showcase some of the best magical endeavours by eminent magicians from all over the world. The performance would also include the best of the Sorcar family including card magic, sleight of hand, hallucinations, slashing-cutting and many more.

This however, is not Sorcar’s first visit to the state. The magic guru, also a devout of Lord Jagannath, has enthralled Orissa’s audience for decades.

For Maneka Sorcar, the eldest daughter of P.C. Sorcar, this is her first visit to the state after her graduation from Ohio University. Maneka, who has been in the trade of tricks and illusions since her teens, had recently created a new world record with her startling “Bicycling on Water” act. Her Big Bang act and her extravagant stage production Maya Vigyan have exhibited her prowess.

“Orissa’s audience love magic and it is this love that pulls us here again and again. I am performing in the city after a long time and I am both anxious and excited. Our show has all the elements of drama and illusion. I hope the audience will love it,” said Maneka.

The ever-smiling Sorcar also shared his feelings on the visit. The witty magician said: “This show is strictly meant for families. No one should come alone, as there is no fun watching a magic show all by oneself. Enjoy, get amazed and share your surprise with everyone.”

The show, which begins tomorrow, would be on till September 5.
