Bhubaneswar, Oct. 1: The case of braveheart Linkan Subuddhi is all set to make its way to classrooms in B-schools and colleges in the state.

The Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, is planning to include the case in its postgraduate diploma in rural management course in the first year.

The case will be taught under a module called “community mobilisation and institution building-challenges and threats,” XIMB teacher Niraj Kumar told The Telegraph.

“We will take up the case of Linkan to teach our students how challenging it can be for a rural management professional. It will be all about what are the threats expected and how to deal with them efficiently,” he said.

The National Institute of Social Work and Social Sciences is also considering to include the story of Linkan in their curriculum.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Sashmi Nayak, head of the department of social work at the institute, said: “Students will be explained what to expect when dealing with rural masses where there is a lot of resistance to accept a modern concept or transform a prevailing social menace. We will hold deliberations to make the students ready to tackle similar untoward incidents that Linkan Subudhi had to face.”

Utkal University authorities, who are now reworking on their syllabi, have also planned a chapter on community mobilisation which would include the example of Linkan.

The Odia woman, who works as an IT employee in Noida and had been treated in a private hospital there, was discharged today. Linkan insists that she would continue her social service.
