Cuttack, July 18: Lawyers outside the family court here today foiled the attempt of some policemen from Bhadrak to abduct a 28-year-old man on charges of dowry torture.

The lawyers rescued Sadananda from Palalahada in Angul, who works as a scientist with an unit of the Defence Research and Development Organisation in Hyderabad.

Sadananda was on his way to the family court regarding his divorce petition.

“The plan to abduct me has been hatched by my wife and her family members. Her father works as an assistant sub-inspector at Chandbali,” Sadanand said.
