Cuttack, Aug. 16: Four persons, including a student, have been arrested in connection with the recent bombing incident at Mani Sahu Chhak.

The accused have been identified as Chandan Behera, 25, Balram Behera, 25, Sushant Behera, 26, of Machua Baazar and Braja Kishore Sahu, 38, of Mani Sahu Chhak.

Police sources said all the four were involved in the “conspiracy” and subsequent bombing on Arnab Enterprises to extract ransom from its proprietor Durga Prasad Pahari, 45. “Four persons, including a college student, has been arrested in connection with the case and further investigation is on,” said deputy commissioner of police Praveen Kumar.

Kumar said the student, Chandan Behera, had also been booked earlier for petty crimes. He was a Plus Three first-year student at Sanskrit College here. Braja Kishore Sahu, who earlier worked as a salesman with Arnab Enterprises, had masterminded the incident.

Braja, along with Chandan, Balram and Sushant, conspired to take revenge on Pahari after he was sacked recently following some financial irregularities.

On July 27, Braja and his accomplices, threatened Pahari over phone and demanded Rs 5 lakh as ransom. Though Pahari had lodged a police complaint and security was provided to him, the accused had hurled bomb at his shop on August 3.
